[Skim-app-users] automatic file reloading

Hi all,
Since I upgraded to Skim 1.4.20, I have to select Yes every time I reload a
file. According to Skim Help:

To reload files when their contents changes on disk, choose Skim >
Preferences, click Sync, and select "Check for file changes".

Skim will always first ask you whether it should reload the file when the
contents changes on disk, unless you have chosen Auto.

Well, I chose Auto, and I still am being asked every time whether Skim
should reload the file. I am not aware of any other changes I made since
updating Skim, and I never had this problem before.

Also, I would prefer to have Skim always automatically reload, without me
ever having to choose this. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for this wonderful app!

This does wok as intended for me, and also we did not change anything in 1.4.20.

Be aware that Auto only affects a single open file. In a new Skim session, or after you have closed the file, or for other files, this won’t have an effect. This is because whether reloading is a good idea depends on the file, in particular notes can be effected/lost by the operation. This is why we don’t do this by default. Though we do allow it using a hidden preference. For this, you can consult the Wiki.

Christiaan,
I made the change in the hidden preference, and it is working the way I
want it to now. Thanks!
