Discussion:
[Skim-app-users] Up arrow ?

Hi,

I am using Skim 1.4.14 with MacOS Sierra and the keyboard up arrow does
not work : it does not bring me to the preceding page. That result does
not depend on my keyboard layout. The down arrow works as expected.

Am I missing something obvious ?

Best regards,

Guillaume

Yes, you’re having a very old version of Skim. The newest is 1.4.21, that contains a workaround for this PDFKit bug (and many more). You may have to download this manually.

So I was missing something obvious. Auto-updates has been giving me bad
habits !

Thanks,

Hi,

Ah… I am now with 1.4.21 and I still have the issue. I have the
feeling it is not with all pdfs, but I have not found a pattern.

Best regards,

Guillaume

Guillaume -- does <cmd><left arrow> work for you?

Tinkering, I find that <Go to Page x> (<cmd><opt>G) -sometimes- kicks <up arrow> into operation, and then for whatever reason it stops working. It’s sometimes necessary to do <Go to> operations.

Similarly, sometimes <fn><right arrow> gets <up arrow> to work a few times.
